Further Event Information

Maria Doyle Kennedy has spent much of her life either on the road, touring with her husband Kieran, or acting in films and TV shows. With a career spanning over 30 years, Maria is known not only as one of Ireland’s most prolific singer songwriters, but also her roles in major television productions like the Tudors, Downton Abbey and Orphan Black, as well as cult classic films The Commitments and Sing Street. Maria performed with the Hothouse Flowers during the band’s early years, and subsequentially The Black Velvet Band. After her time with The Black Velvet Band came to an end, she began a successful solo career that has culminated in 9 albums and 13 singles. In May of 2021, Maria Doyle Kennedy and husband Kieran Kennedy released their latest album ‘Fire on the Roof of Eden’, a 72 minute long project recorded and produced entirely in their kitchen/studio. The album, fueled by lockdown limbo, explores nearly every genre from alt-pop to folk to bluegrass to rock and roll, and is full of mystic escapism and wanderlust.
